1.16 - Legal Representation
Individuals offering legal representation (Paralegals or Lawyers) must possess a license issued by the Eclipse City Bar Association, these individuals must carry a Bar issued form of identification otherwise they are not entitled to act as a legal representative.
Legal representatives are required to abide by the Bar Association Code of Conduct.
Legal representatives are entitled to meet with their clients after they have been convicted of an offence via D13.
Civilians are entitled to consult legal representation and/or have a representative present if law enforcement officers (LEO) intend to conduct formal interviews and/or questioning. Civilians must be informed of this right prior to an interview occurring.
Legal representatives and their clients are entitled to privacy, government agents must ensure interactions between the two parties are not monitored or unnecessarily disturbed.
Legal representatives reserve the right to access a police station's holding facilities to consult with detainees. Police may elect to remove a representative from the facility if:
Their safety is in question;
They have breached any state laws;
They are acting in a unruly, aggressive or disorderly manner.
