6.9 Law Enforcement

Law Enforcement (LEOs) are a driving force behind roleplay. As such, LEOs are held to a high standard or RP. LEOs set the tone of the server for new players, and are expected to conduct themselves accordingly.

  1. Corruption Prohibition Corruption on any level within law enforcement is forbidden without prior staff approval.

  2. Play to Win Mentality and Discretion All Law Enforcement officers are expected to use discretion, give civilians room to breathe, and accept occasional losses. Maliciously stacking charges against compliant individuals is not permitted.

  3. No Baiting Players It is not appropriate to attempt to agitate or “bait” players into committing crimes in order to arrest them or gain advantage.

  4. Observation vs. Harassment There is a difference between investigating/observing and stalking/hounding players. After a reasonable observation period, if no crime occurs, officers must disengage until suspicious activity resumes.

  5. Call Attendance Law Enforcement cannot pick and choose which calls to attend unless the call is objectively impossible, already being attended by another officer, or higher-priority duties require attention.

  6. Active Duty Expectations Clocked-in officers are expected to be working. Logging in for payments and going AFK or idle for extended periods is not allowed and may result in IC and OOC consequences.

  7. Metagaming Prohibition Using knowledge from a criminal character to benefit a Law Enforcement character is strictly prohibited. Offenders may face IC and OOC consequences, including loss of the ability to play a Law Enforcement character.

  8. Higher Standard of Behavior Law Enforcement officers are held to a higher standard. Misuse or abuse of powers, failure to follow SOPs without RP justification, or behavior damaging to RP may result in IC and/or OOC consequences on a case-by-case basis.

  9. Awareness of Police Presence Players must understand that cops are part of a larger police force. Characters should always assume that other officers are on duty and available across the city.

  10. Requests for Officers Asking “are any cops on,” “how many cops are on,” or demanding additional units during scenarios is not permitted. Players must use in-game methods to determine police presence.

  11. Treat Law Enforcement Seriously Attacking or engaging cops will generally result in increased force. Players must recognize that cops are highly trained, potentially lethal, and have resources to outgun them.

  12. Downed and Arrested Behavior If downed by law enforcement and taken to a hospital for treatment, players should treat it as “game over,” RP injuries appropriately, and not attempt to escape or become hostile post-revival.

  13. Haldol Usage by EMS/Doctors Haldol indicates sedation. Players under Haldol cannot attempt to escape or act violently. Abuse or improper use should be reported via a staff ticket.

  14. Limits of EMS/Doctor Authority EMS/Doctors may only administer sedatives to patients already under arrest or exhibiting violent/unpredictable behavior within the hospital. Improper use should be reported via a staff ticket.
