5.0 - Character Creation

Eclipse City takes its rules seriously as they’re the framework that keeps our RP strong, our players safe, and our community happy.

1. Character Setting and Timeframe Any characters you create must be people who would reasonably be living in 2025 Eclipse City.

2. Exceptions Rare exceptions may be made but only with staff approval via a ticket.

3. Appropriate Joke Names Some joke or pun names are allowed, but crude, sexual, or offensive names are prohibited. Examples include Ben Dover, Seymour Butts, Jill Orf, Pu Si. Staff may change your character’s name if it is deemed inappropriate.

4. Family Names and Relationships Sharing last names is allowed only if your character is related to another character in-game. These relationships must be agreed upon with the other player prior to character creation.

5. Character Backstory Your character’s backstory must be reasonable and believable for Eclipse City. While unique or dramatic backstories are welcome, they must fit within the context of the city and setting.

6. No Cross-Server Stories Backstories from other servers or communities are not transferable — stories on Eclipse City are unique to this server.

7. Age Requirement All characters must be over the age of 18.

8. Character Creation Effort Players must create their character fully in the character menu, including face, hair, clothing, and other features. Default characters (e.g., “Default Danny”) are not permitted.

9. Model Integrity Characters must not have missing limbs, gaps in their model, or other visual errors. Accidents happen, but failing to fix these issues is not acceptable. If you have trouble with clothing or character features, submit a ticket for staff assistance.

10. Clothing in Public Characters must be appropriately clothed in public at all times.

11. Body Underlays Certain clothing underlays contain nipples or genitalia to accommodate clothing items or body shape options. These are intentional and should not be abused.

12. Public Nudity Players found wandering around naked in public without a legitimate IC reason will face bans. Private residences, the VU, and other non-public areas do not count as public spaces.

13. Abuse of IC Nudity Players using IC reasons as an excuse to remain naked or semi-naked in public repeatedly may face disciplinary action, including bans, for abusing the server’s leniency.
