The Golden RP Rule

Role play is a series of moments across a wide community of people. These moments are times of great importance, impact, and/or development to a character. These moments will sometimes be yours, they will sometimes be someone else’s, and sometimes they may belong to a group or — on rare occasions — they may be for everyone. These moments are not always victories, but they are meaningful, memorable, and keep stories going and take them to new places.

Role play is give-and-take, and not every moment will be yours. Sometimes, the moment will be your friend’s moment or your enemy’s moment. Sometimes a moment will be the criminal’s, sometimes it will be the police’s.

Allowing other people to have their moment is not a loss for you. It is a win for you, the community, and the stories told here. When you allow others to have their moment, the community will return the favor in kind when your own moment comes along.

We ask our players to keep this in mind throughout their adventures on Eclipse City as we feel it is the core principle that encourages our community to experience engaging, exciting, and fun role play that benefits everyone involved.
