6.2 Intrusive RP

Intrusive RP is a difficult to define act that is heavily dependent on context. While we will do our best to define it, please keep in mind that the highly subjective nature of intrusive RP means that matters relating to it will heavily rely on staff discretion based on the situation and context.

Intrusive RP is when a person who is not involved or engaged with a scenario attempts to ‘force’ their way into a scenario in a way that is not conducive to the scenario and disrupts the scenario for those already involved and/or is done with the intent to remove focus from another players RP ‘moment’ and refocus it on them. Here are some limited examples:

Scenario 1

A group of three people are in the hospital visiting an injured LEO in their hospital room. A fourth person realizes they are there and, despite not knowing anyone in the room well enough to justify being there, comes into the room and begins making excuses as to why they should be there, even after they’re asked to leave several times. The fourth person doesn’t have an IC reason to push to be there, and is only doing this because the person playing them is looking for something to do and knows the other people cannot become hostile with them in a green zone like the hospital. This removes the focus from the RP the original group was engaged with and disrupts it.

Scenario 2

An intense scenario is taking place between the police and a group of criminals, where a masked gang has taken the police chief hostage outside of city hall and is demanding the early release of a prisoner in Bolingbroke Prison in a staff-approved scenario. The majority of the city is watching the scene unfold from a safe distance and the entire police force has responded in a large scale stand off. A civilian character, unprompted, then forces their way past police lines and approaches the criminals, asking to join their gang or be a hostage in place of the police chief, despite being told numerous times to not do so by LEOs.
