6.10 Houses, Property, Jobs and Businesses
Residential Property Ownership Players may own as many residential properties as they like. A residential property is defined as any property that is not used as a business and that your character intends to live in as a residence.
Business Ownership Characters may only own one business at a time. They may co-own one additional business if they choose, and can work for as many businesses as an employee as desired.
Inactivity and Property Repossession If you are inactive on the server without notifying staff, your residential property may be repossessed and returned to the market. To keep your property while inactive, raise a staff ticket.
Activity Requirement Players must be active for a minimum of 18 hours every three months to be considered “active.”
Property Sale Restrictions Properties cannot be sold until owned for at least one month.
Cool-Off Period There is a one-day “cool off” period between property purchases or exchanges, during which you cannot buy additional properties.
Business Ownership Limit Players are limited to owning and running one business at any given time.
Job Types There are three kinds of jobs in Eclipse City: State, Whitelisted, and Freelance.
State Jobs State jobs are operated by staff as part of the server’s function (e.g., Law Enforcement, EMS, Doctors, Realtors, Lawyers, Judges). Characters may hold one state job per character, and players are limited to three state jobs across all characters unless staff approval is obtained via a ticket.
Whitelisted Jobs Whitelisted jobs are operated by business-owning players as part of their business (e.g., Mechanics, Bartenders, Recording Artists, Burgershot employees, Strippers). There are no limits on how many whitelisted jobs a character can hold, provided they manage clocking in and out responsibly.
Freelance Jobs Freelance jobs are player-created and operate independently with no in-game mechanics or whitelisted components (e.g., Private Investigators, Taxi/Uber drivers, Graphic Designers). There are no limits on freelance jobs.
Work Expectations If a job requires clocking in or going on duty, players must actively work or roleplay being at work. Standing idle while collecting pay is not permitted.
Business Corruption and Legal Risk Businesses may sell illegal goods or operate illegal functions. If discovered by Law Enforcement, the business may be confiscated or shut down via the Judicial system, and there may be additional IC consequences.
Job Vehicle Restrictions Players cannot use job vehicles for crime or hostile actions. For example, garbage trucks, delivery vans, or other work vehicles cannot be used to commit crimes.
