9.0 - Metagaming
Metagaming damages the integrity of RP and spoils the nature of RP for everyone in the community. As such, metagaming is taken extremely seriously by staff and disciplinary action typically ranges from a three day ban to a permaban depending on the offense.
Using information obtained outside the server via Discord, streams, VC etc is considered metagaming.
Using or transferring information between your own characters is considered metagaming.
Using information learned on a criminal character when playing a law enforcement character in order to give yourself an unfair advantage when dealing with criminals (and vice versa) is an extremely serious form of metagaming and is treated as such by staff. Disciplinary action may include not only a ban, but IC consequences such as removal from playing law enforcement, etc.
Using a player’s status on Discord, Steam, Epic Games, FiveM, or any other platform that provides current play status to determine if they’re on the server to either seek them out or avoid them is metagaming.
Faction Discord servers are permitted for faction/gang organizing, etc, but must have at least one Eclipse City staff member present and able to see all channels in order to monitor and prevent metagaming. Please raise a staff ticket if you are creating a faction discord.
All in character communication must be done in-server using VOIP and not over a third party app like Discord.
In character goods, services, information etc are under no circumstances to be traded for real world money, goods, or services. All IC transactions must consist of entirely IC means.
Exchanging real world money, goods, services or items between players in exchange for IC gain is against Cfx terms of service and will result in an immediate and permanent ban with no option for appeal.
