4.4 Bans

1. Explaining Bans Most bans will be explained through a Discord staff sit ticket. The exception is immediate permanent bans issued for severe infractions where staff must remove a player from the community without delay.

2. Ban Evasion Attempting to evade a ban is a serious violation. Any form of ban evasion will result in further disciplinary action, often leading to a permanent ban.

3. Appealable Bans Some bans may be appealed. Eligibility depends on the type and severity of the infraction.

4. Cooling-Off Period Bans longer than one week require a cooling-off period before staff will consider an appeal. The length of this period depends on the duration of the ban itself.

5. Permanent Ban Appeals Permanent bans may only be appealed after 30 days. Because permanent bans include removal from the Eclipse City Discord, another community member may submit the appeal on the banned player’s behalf.

6. Non-Appealable Bans Certain bans cannot be appealed. These usually involve severe misconduct such as OOC harassment, sexual harassment, or behaviour that endangers the safety and wellbeing of the community. Staff will clearly inform you if your ban falls into this category.

7. Serving Bans In-Character For some minor infractions — such as breaking character, FailRP, or RDM — staff may allow the ban to be served in-character as a prison sentence rather than off the server. This option is entirely at staff discretion.

8. Discord Access During Temporary Bans Players serving temporary or short-term bans (under 30 days) will not be removed from the Discord. However, if a banned player becomes disruptive, posts about their ban, or argues in Discord during their ban, staff may mute or remove them temporarily until the ban period ends.
