4.1 Reporting Rule Breaks

1. Use Tickets to Report Rule Breaks Players who witness behaviour that may violate the rules must report it by creating a staff ticket in the Eclipse City Discord.

2. Evidence Strongly Encouraged While not required, players are encouraged to use clipping or recording software to provide evidence. This greatly helps staff investigate and resolve issues quickly. Many graphics cards include built-in clipping tools, and Medal is highly recommended for simple recording and easy sharing.

3. Do Not DM Staff with Player Reports Players must not privately message staff members to report others. Doing so may result in a warning. Eclipse City does not allow “pocket staff” arrangements under any circumstances.

4. Exception for Reporting Staff Misconduct If you need to report a staff member, message only one person with a rank of Admin or higher. This exception applies solely to staff-related complaints.

5. Stay In Character Until Staff Intervene Players must remain in character at all times, even when a rule has clearly been broken. If the situation makes you uncomfortable and you cannot realistically walk away IC, use /ooc to state that you wish to disengage. Once acknowledged, F8 quit and raise a ticket or update your existing one. This aligns with the Emergency Disengaging rule.

6. Keep Reports Out of Roleplay Once you report a player, the matter must remain strictly out-of-character. Do not reference the report in RP through phrases such as “I spoke to the government,” “I sent a prayer,” “they’re going on a trip,” or any similar coded language.

7. No Baiting or Ban-Hunting Deliberately provoking players into breaking rules or trying to “win wars with bans” is prohibited. Staff will address this behaviour, and disciplinary action may follow.

8. Use Tickets for Support & Bug Reports The in-game /report function is not for support questions or bug reporting. Use a staff ticket in Discord for those matters.
