4.1 - Unlawful Detainment

Government agents must only detain a person if they have:

  • Committed an offence;

  • Are suspected of committing an offence;

  • Have attempted to commit an offence;

  • Are interfering with law enforcement or acting in a disorderly way;

  • A warrant from a Magistrate or Judge.

Law enforcement should attempt to conduct their investigation in a reasonable amount of time, avoiding unnecessary delay.

Breaches to be investigated by Business Executives and submitted to Board of Directors for review. For serious or repeat offenders, a senate officer may decide to impose any penalty deemed appropriate, including demotion, dismissal and jail
