3.5 - Contracts

A person who is a party to a contract must fulfil their contractual obligations. Contracts can be made in the following manner:

  • In writing;

  • Verbally;

  • Through actions carried out by parties;

  • Through the receipt of unjust benefits;

  • By way of standard practice;

  • Through recurring contractual relationship.

Unless explcitly waived, a contract does not override state law.

Penalties and Punishments

Punishment

Alleged breaches of contract should be brought before a court for review. A courts officer may then impose penalties on the party at fault.
