12.3 - Unroadworthy Vehicle

All vehicles operating on the road must meet the minimum standards specified below

  1. Working brakes, headlights, brake lights and horn

  2. No significant structural failure

  3. All doors, windows and windscreens are properly fitted

  4. A rear number plate fitted

  5. No parts of the vehicle touching the ground other than wheels and mud flaps

  6. No modified vehicle engine which enables the use of NOS

  7. Wheels and tires which are not damaged or deflated

  8. Must not be misidentified as a government vehicle

  9. All window tints must be sufficiently light enough to allow a law enforcement officer to clearly identify the occupants of the vehicle

  10. The number plate must not include any curse words, hate speech or discriminatory remarks

Exemptions from this law may be granted from the Department of Justice and communicated to law enforcement
